In Loving Memory. My dedication to all my friends and family that have died. Reflecting on their lives and the impact they had on me brings both sorrow and gratitude. Their memories continue to inspire and shape who I am today.

In this heartfelt tribute, I aim to honor their legacies by sharing stories, experiences, and lessons learned. Through interview format writing, I will delve into the cherished moments we shared, the wisdom they imparted, and the values they instilled in me. Each conversation will serve as a testament to their remarkable lives and the profound influence they had on those around them.

Join me on this journey of remembrance and celebration as I pay tribute to the remarkable individuals who have left an indelible mark on my heart. Through their stories, may we find solace, inspiration, and a renewed appreciation for the preciousness of life.


My Uncle Brudee
Rivers Bouillion, Jr.
Born Sept. 25th, 1956 - Died Jan. 4th, 2001

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Boullion died at 1:18 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001, at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.

Mr. Bouillion was a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal Service for five years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was known to his friends and family as "Lil Rivers" and "Brudee." He loved to go camping, crabing, swimming and tubing. He also enjoyed partying with his friends and going to the casino. His favorite game was bouree'. He took great joy in always having a beautiful yard filled with lots of plants. he loved listening to the radio, especially to classic rock. His favorite foods were rice and gravy, brownies, boiled seafood and barbecue shared with family and friends. He loved to watch Wheel of Fortune and talk shows. Mr. bouillion always looked up to and greatly admired his grandmother and was very proud of his two children.

Uncle Brudee will always be remembered in the hearts of all his family and friends. Those who were most special to him will never forget his love he had.

My Grandfather
Rivers Bouillion, Sr.
Born Jan. 26th, 1932 - Died Feb. 8th, 2001

A native of Erath and a resident of New Iberia, Mr. Bouillion died at 6:34 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, at Dauterive Hospital.

Mr. Bouillion was a truck driver most of his life. He drove while enlisted in the National Guard for Sam Broussard Trucking and Howard Trucking. He had the skill to fix anything that needed mending and also enjoyed hunting. He loved his wife and children and would do anything for them.

Pallbearers will be sons: Barry, Chuck, and Donnie Bouillion, his brother: Carrol Bouillion, and his two best friends: Larry Verret and Sterling Broussard.

Honorary pallbearers are his four oldest male grand-children: Clint Roy, Cody Comb, Brett Michael and Jarred Breaux.


My Grandmother
Joy Rita Broussard-Boullion
Born Nov. 19th, 1931 - Died Feb. 24th, 2007

Services will be conducted for Mrs. Rivers Bouillion Sr., the former Joy Broussard, 75, at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Nativity of Our Lady Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Langlois officiating.

Visitation will be held today from 1 p.m. until 10 p.m. with the recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. The funeral home will reopen Tuesday from 8 a.m. until time of services.

Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. A native and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Bouillion died at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 24, 2007, at New Iberia Manor North.

Mrs. Bouillion was a CB operator and enjoyed speaking with her many friends. She also enjoyed playing bingo whenever she was able, and had a love for flowers, especially daisies. She was devoted to her family and always made sure that her children and family had everything they needed. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

She is survived her children, Barry Bouillion and wife Carolyn, Charles Chuck Bouillion, Donald Donnie Bouillion, Joni Breaux and husband Ferris, and Chreen Broussard, all of New Iberia; and Terrilyn Durio of Oberlin; 11 grandchildren, Clint Roy, Jarred Breaux, Crystal Lapeyrouse, Brett Bouillion, Cody Comb, Dean Bouillion, Brooksie Bouillion, Megan Broussard, Nicholas Lebert, Heather Durio and Heidi Menier; and five great grandchildren, Dylan, Joseph and Hiley Roy, Kylar and Brin Lapeyrouse.

Mrs. Bouillion was preceded in death by husband, Rivers Bouillion Sr.; son, Rivers Bouillion Jr.; father, Oris Broussard; mother, Rosemary Gachassin Broussard Landry; and brother, Leonard Ray Broussard.

Pallbearers will be Clint Roy, Jarred Breaux, Brett Bouillion, Cody Comb, Dean Bouillion and Brad Lapeyrouse.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to Journey Hospice for the exceptional care shown during this time, and also to New Iberia Manor North administration and staff for the 10 years of compassion and love given.

My Friend
Charles Fontenette
Born 1984 - Died Mar. 19th, 2005

Services for Charles Joseph Fontenette, 21, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Edward Catholic Church with Msgr. Ronald Broussard officiating. Interment will follow in St. Edward Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be observed Wednesday from 7:30 a.m. until the time of service at Journet and Bolden Funeral Home.

A native and resident of New Iberia, Mr. Fontenette died at 7 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2005, at his residence following a lengthy illness.

Charles "Sweetie" Fontenette, a 2002 graduate of Westgate High School, was recently recognized for academic achievement as a United States National Honor Roll Award winner by the United States Achievement Academy. He will appear in the USAA yearbook.

Mr. Fontenette was the president of the Westgate Family Career Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Club, the president of the Westgate Spanish Club, a member of the Westgate Teacher Cadet Program and received the Iberia Parish Education Industry Business (EIB) Council 2002 Outstanding Technology Student award and a Regent Scholar Award for having at least a 3.5 grade point average. In addtiion. Fontenette helped SNAP at Christmas and Easter with gifts for the children.

Mr. Fontenette was the son of Cornelius and Angela Landor of New Iberia. He is the grandson of Lydia Fontenette and Brenda Placide, both of New Iberia, and O'Neil Landor of Jeanerette.

He is survived by his parents, Angela and Cornelius Landor and Charles J. Placide Jr.; maternal grandmother, Lydia B. Fontenette; paternal grandparents, Brenda Placide and Charles Placide Sr.; two aunts, Lois F. Jones and Taeleab Placide; four uncles, Damian Placide Sr., Keith, Kenneth and Russell Fontenette Jr., a special child, Christian Davis; four step-sisters, Sheena Landor, Shelly Landor, Arteshia Armstead and Lakeasha Lewis; and a special sister, Keiyanna Small.

Mr. Fontenette was preceded in death by his maternal grandparent, Russell Fontenette; paternal great grandparents, Gustavia and Early Davis, Lottie Harst and Oneil Landor, and Sadie B. Placide.

Pallbearers will be Cedric Cormier, Kenwood Jones Jr., Marcus Austin, Robert Hurst, Phillip Hill and Darion Clay.

Journet and Bolden Funeral Home of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.
